The 6 Mistakes of Man(kind)

Marcus Tillius Cicero’s Six Mistakes of Man
marcuscicero

  1. The delusion that personal gain is made by crushing others.
  2. The tendency to worry about things that cannot be changed or corrected.
  3. Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it.
  4. Refusing to set aside trivial preferences.
  5. Neglecting development and refinement of the mind, and not acquiring the habit of reading and studying.
  6. Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.

Some of my favorite MLK quotes:

MLK
Martin Luther King, Jr.
January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?

Means we use must be as pure as the ends we seek.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Almost always, the creative dedicated minority has made the world better.

Quote of the Week: Nov. 16, 2014

Circumstance is a bitch, it’s not fair. It doesn’t matter how great of a person you are, due to circumstance your life might be really tough. You might have been dealt a shitty hand but don’t let that limit you, you can still become happy and successful. You are in control.” @AndyMilonakis
